Good afternoon everyone and welcome to BTM coverage of the Moto GP of Catalunya. @Ugster1 to take you through the action.

It's a more sombre weekend than usual, after the sad death of Luis Salom, the Moto 2 rider, in a crash on Friday. That led to changes to the track in turns 10 and 12.

The changes to the layout seems to have had a negative effect on Yamaha, whereas Marquez was able to put in a blistering qualifying lap to take pole.

Apart from the track changes, there are also issues with tyre wear - soft tyres won't last, hard tyres are slow - and fuel consumption - a suggestion that the changes may make this an issue. It's all making for an unpredictable race, none of the experts willing to pick a winner.

The grid, Marquez in pole: Marquez, Lorenzo, Pedrosa Barbera, Rossi, Vinales Crutchlow, Iannone, Petrucci Dovizioso, Redding, Espargaro (P) Espargaro (A), Smith, Pirro Hernandez, Laverty, Bradl Miller, Rabat, Bautista.

Warm up lap underway, looks to be hot at the track with the stands packed - 100,000 in attendence. Riders lining up...

And we're off! Long hold at the start, but it's Lorenzo that leads into turn one! Marquez two, Iannone three. 25 lap race.

24 laps to go: At the end of the first lap, it's Lorenzo - Marquez - Pedrosa - Rossi - Vinales.

Vinales threatening Rossi, first three pulling away a tiny bit at this early stage.

23 laps to go: Fastest lap for Rossi, and that small gap the front three had has gone. It's the top five together now.
