Hello everyone, it's Semi-Final time in the Royal London One-Day Cup. Top of County Championship Division One Essex host Top of County Championship Division 2 Nottinghamshire, Rob Sutton here for what should be a cracking game!

First thing to tell you is that Essex have won the toss and have elected to bat first, team news to follow.

The format of the One-Day Cup this year is a little odd. Essex by winning the South Group didn't have to play a quarter final, while Notts did and what a game it was. They made 429-9 from their 50 overs and Somerset in reply made 405!

The other semi-final is Worcestershire v Surrey at New Road tomorrow, the winners of that play the winners of this one in the Lords Final on 1st July.

Glorious conditions at Chelmsford today, we should get a full game, sell-out crowd as well which is great to see. Suspect that could be a lively crowd by about 8.30 tonight.

Players are on their way out to the middle, opening up for Essex, Varun Chopra and the in form Alistair Cook.

Chopra to take strike and to open the bowling for Nottinghamshire will be Harry Gurney.

Good start from Gurney, a single to Cook and a leg bye from the first over. 2-0 (1)

Jake Ball to open up at the River End for Notts.
