#100Momentsin100Days Lynn Davies jumps for Gold in 1964

Welcome to the final of the Men's Long Jump here in a very wet Tokyo

The favourite for the event is the reigning Champion, Ralph Boston of America

Faint British hopes are led by the Welshman Lynn Davies who has also competed in the 100metres in Tokyo.

Lynn goes into the event as the 5th best Long-Jumper in the world, can he push for bronze today?

It would appear that we will have a cold war battle for the gold medal, between the afore-mentioned Boston and Ovanesyan of the Soviet Union

The 1st round looks ready to begin as the rain lashes down, and the 12 finalists are ready to go...

After 3 rounds the top 6 will move on to contest the medal places... Here comes Ovanesyan the Soviet in the 1st round...

That look's big....he's got a white flag and it's 7.78metres. That's a good marker to lay down in the 1st round.

The reigning champ Boston get's his final underway with 7.76m. The Soviet is in front by 2cms, which pleases Brezhnev watching on

And here he come's it's the Welshman Lynn Davies what's he got in his locker first up... Hmm nothing special it's only 7.26m
