The Oaks @ Epsom Downs

In a world of trouble around the bend, but Minding flies home to win easily enough. She stays alright!!

Hello all! I'm Conor Stroud here with you all the way until 4:30 today, with live coverage of Epsom Oaks day. Aidan O'Brien won it last year with Qualify, and has another great chance this year, with a certain 1000 Guineas hero Minding.

We have the Derby as well tomorrow of course, which is one of the most open looking Derby races in recent years.

But back to the big one today. Minding after winning the English version, was beaten in the Irish 1000 Guineas by Jet Setting, after banging her head on the stalls on very testing ground. The ground isn't as soft today, but could good to soft ground alongside a further half mile open up chances for a more obvious stayer, such as Godolphin owned Skiffle?

Good-to-Soft the official going thus far, not particularly sunny so expect it to stay that way if you are factoring that into any bets this afternoon. First race 15 minutes away, and it's the Listed Woodcote Stakes, the 2yo race over 6 furlongs.

Runners and riders for the 2:00 Woodcote Stakes, with four real good young runners. Usually is a race to keep an eye on in future, as Buratino won this last year and went on to win the Coventry at Royal Ascot.

Sea Of Snow just beat Legendary Lunch a few weeks back, with Tibr and Hyperfocus unbeaten alongside the Buick runner. The two outsiders have also only been beaten once, so could be anything!

I'll maybe just side with Sea Of Snow with the form in the book, but a very tentative pick. Loading about to start here...

Sea Of Snow well away

Legendary Lunch a little keen
