Serena's eventually through to the final, then. Are we ready to see out of Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka can make it through to the men's on Sunday?

HEAD TO HEAD STAN WAWRINKA 7-8 ANDY MURRAY Wawrinka won their last meeting at last year's ATP World Tour Finals at the O2, 7-6 6-4 Wawrinka won their previous best-of-5 meeting, the 2013 US Open QF, 6-4 6-3 6-2 Wawrinka has won all previous meetings on clay between the two. First time for everything, hey, Andy?

He's won all if their last 3 meetings too with Andy not even winning a set ! On a 3-match, 7-set losing streak going into this one, dear Andy.

The players are now being introduced out onto court. Still some spare seats, but most French spectators back from lunch. A couple of tartan hats and Saltires dotted around Philippe Chatrier.

A balmy 13C (55F) on court, I'm led to believe. Get those muscles warmed up, guys!

No gloves and scarves out on court, mind. Murray in a white top, white cap and grey shorts, Wawrinka sporting the yellow fluorescent highlighter pen look.

Official weather graphic on screen reckons that it has dropped a little to 12C, with some rain in the area. Hardy spectators required. Stadium still around 50% capacity.

Warm-ups are complete, and it's Stan (who won the toss) to serve first. Ready? Play.

Stan strongly out of the blocks with good court coverage, coming straight to the net on the 2nd point, getting to 30-0. A forehand winner and a backhand drop shot complete a clean sheet for the Swiss in the opening service game. 1-0

Murray up and running as Stan misfires a backhand down the line. 15-0 Andy a little long of the base line and a bit shaky on a 2nd serve. 15-15 Murray nets after a base line rally. 15-30 Better dominance from Murray in that base line exchange. Stan long. 30-30 Ace. 40-30 Great court coverage from Stan who drops into empty court, and we're at Deuce.

A good serve allows Andy to dominate the rally and take advantage, but Andy's return in the next point is confirmed long in the sand to take us back to 40-40. There's another strong response from Stan in a base line rally to prevent Andy from sewing up this opening service game, which ticks into its eighth minute. Murray nets the next point, and Wawrinka has his first break point of the match...
