The Daily Brit: Day 1

It's day one of the Olympics and there's just SO MUCH SPORT ON! On this rolling page, we'll update you throughout the day with the stories concerning Team GB. From archery to wrestling, and everything else in between. Can we get a medal or two today? Here's hoping!

So, you're wondering what's on at the Games today for Team GB. Well... Plenty rowing heats from 12.30pm. Alan Campbell goes first in the men's single sculls. Men's road race is from 1.30pm. Chris Froome one of the faves for it. Rugby 7s makes it's debut. GB vs Brazil from 4pm. Men's gymanstics team qualification this afternoon/evening as well.

We've spotted our first competitive Brit! Alan Campbell rowing for Team GB right now.

Campbell wins his heat in 7 minutes 8 seconds, naturally.

It's not been the best of starts for Jennifer McIntosh. Down in 15th place in the 10m Air Rifle Women's Qualification. Only the top 8 qualify for the final. An hour into Rio 2016, and she's done. PARTY TIME NOW JENNY!!!

We are underway in the Men's Road Race! The obvious medal hopeful for Britian is Chris Froome. Let's just hope the race isn't like how it was in 2012, when Britain were unable to get Cavendish in contention...

Ashley McKenzie begins his Judo quest in the next half hour. Here's the scene from the arena. 3pm his first bout should any of you care to tune in!

Ashley McKenzie in action in the very near future. Will keep you posted of his progress right here. Unsure whether he's on mat one or two mind you...

McKenzie has landed the first blow. Scores a yuko to take the first point. There's a yellow card next to each man's name on the screen. I'm no Judo expert so I have zero idea what that means. Sorry.

We have less than 3 minutes to go here...McKenzie with the only point on the board so far. KICK HIM IN THE NUTS! FLIP HIM OVER!! PULL HIS DRESSING GOWN OFF!!
