Joseph Schooling takes the gold with a new Olympic Record!

IT'S A THREE WAY TIE FOR SILVER. PHELPS. LE CLOS. CSEH. UNBELIEVABLE.

Schooling absolutely flew across the pool to win Singapore's first ever olympic gold medal. Phelps came back at the end but it was only enough for a joint silver. Wow.

Right....we move on. It's the Women's 800m Freestyle Final. Brit Jazz Carlin has had a fantastic olympics and goes in lane 3. But there's no seeing past Katie Ledecky in lane 4. You'd fancy her to break her own world record here tonight.

Other names to watch out for are American Leah Smith and Dane Lotte Friis. They're off and to the surprise of absolutely no one Ledecky is already a half body length ahead at the first turn.

200m gone and Ledecky is well ahead of her world record. Jazz Carlin going well in second, closely followed by the Spaniard Belmonte in lane 8.

At the halfway point Ledecky is a full body length ahead of her World Record. Jazz Carlin and the Hungarian Kapas are fighting it out for second.

Ledecky is on her final two lengths...Carlin makes a move and is a half body length ahead at the final turn.

Ledecky takes gold with a new world record!!! Jazz Carlin wins her second silver of the games!!

That new world record - 8:04:79. She becomes the first teenager ever to successfully defend an olympic title. A brilliant brilliant swim from Carlin for the silver. Boglarka Kapas takes bronze.
