The Daily Brit: Day Eight

Middle Saturday of the Olympics. One of the great days in sport. Team GB will play an integral part and I'll aim to keep across as many of the athletes involved in the games today as possible. I'm Andrew Corcoran. Hello!

TRACK CYCLING Becky James wins her heat of the women's keirin.

TRACK CYCLING In the quarter finals of the men's sprint, Jason Kenny beats Fabian Hernando Puerta Zapata (COL) & Callum Skinner beats Patrick Constable (AUS).

ATHLETICS Seren Bundy-Davies finishes last in her heat of the 400m. Allyson Felix (USA) qualifies from that heat, finishing 1st.

SILVER MEDAL ROWING The women's eights row a FANTASTIC race to claim Team GB's 1st medal of Super Saturday. They were in last place at one point and were able to catch everyone except the US team, who claim the gold.

ATHLETICS Christine Ohuruogu finishes strong in Heat 4 of the 400m to come 2nd just behind USA's Natasha Hastings. Both qualify for the semifinals.

GOLF Justin Rose is underway in the 3rd round of the golf. He's birdied the 1st hole and holds 4th position on his own, just one stroke off the medals! Danny Willett having a pretty good day so far, too. He's -1 thru 8 holes.

ROWING Oh yes! A 2.45 second LEAD for GBR's men's eights halfway through the final. Prepare yourself for medal number two of the day...

GOLD MEDAL ROWING No competition. Great Britain men's eights win the blue riband rowing final in 5:29.63. They lead throughout and storm to the win! YES BOYS!! REPORT:

MEDAL TABLE UPDATE Those two medals secure Great Britain in 3rd place on the Medal Table with 8 Gold, 10 Silver & 6 Bronze. We're equal with Japan on total medals. They only have 7 Gold, though.
