The Daily Brit: Day Ten



MARATHON SWIMMING We're underway on Day Ten! Keri-Anne Payne representing GBR in the Women's 10km. You can follow that in full HERE:

CANOE SPRINT Lani Belcher & Angela Hannah finish a distant last place in their heat of the Women's Kayak Double 500m. They'll have another chance to secure their place in the medal race with a semi final run, though.

CANOE SPRINT Jess Walker qualifies for the semifinals with a time of 41.123 in the Women's Kayak Single 200m heats.

ATHLETICS Dina Asher-Smith is automatically through to the semifinals, finishing 2nd in Heat 5 of the 200m in a time of 22.77 seconds!

TRACK CYCLING Becky James has to work like a demon in the last 100m of her Women's Sprint 1/8th final against Virginie Cueff (FRA), but she does just enough to squeak through to the quarter finals.

TRACK CYCLING Wow! Katy Marchant is caught out by the German cyclist Miriam Welte who sprints out fast in their 1/8th final race. But she puts the afterburners on just in time and she too advances to the quarter finals.

ATHLETICS Jodie Williams runs a season's best 22.69 seconds in her heat of the 200m, finishing 3rd and is looking good for a place in the next round, depending on timings in the next two heats.

BADMINTON In their men's doubles quarter final match against Endo/Hayakawa of Japan, Marcus Ellis & Chris Langridge sneak the first game 21-19!
