Olympics

ByTheMinRio2016

Good afternoon everybody and welcome to the penultimate session of the Track Cycling. Here's the schedule over the next couple of hours. No medals to be won in this session. Just heats and another couple of obstacles for Laura Trott to overcome on her way to winning back to back Olympic Omnium titles.

First up is the Women's sprint quarter finals, in the first of those quarter finals is Zhong from China against Britain's Becky James.

Both riders are being lined up on the start line with James closer to the edge of the track and higher up the banking. Zhong leads them off for the first of three laps.

Zhong still leading them along as the two riders move up the banking. Bell goes and Becky james powers past Zhong through the back straight but Zhong comes back well and James wins by half a wheel. One nil to Becky James.

Best of three races, of course. Katie Marchant is up next against the Lithuanian.

Marchant drawig closer to her opponent and she makes an early break.

Bell goes and Marchant comes home one lap later by a good few seconds. A convincing win for the second of two Brits.

Krupekaite was Katie Marchant's opponent by the way.

Next up is Lee from Hong Kong against Germany's Kristina Vogel.

Vogel leads them off both of them in the Cote d'Azur.
