Paralympics: Can Sarah Storey Win Gold In The Road Race?

A very sad postscript to this piece. Bahman Golbarnezhad of Iran was involved in a crash in the Men's C4/5 Road Race today. He was treated at the scene but suffered a cardiac arrest and died. The thoughts of all at and especially @ByTheMinCycle are with his family. This is the statement issued by the IPC tonight.

Right, that's it from me. GB are currently losing to Turkey in the Bronze medal wheelchair basketball match but there's a long way to go. I'm not fussed about that though, I was just here to see her majesty home! Chapeau Dame Sarah

Anna Harkowska of Poland came 2nd over 3 minutes down. And Crystal Lane came 3rd! Another bronze for GB!

There's hardly anyone around the finish line as well. Never mind Sarah, you get my full appreciation and admiration you hero!

We had about 3 seconds of coverage at the start and maybe 5 seconds showing Sarah Storey cross the line at the finish. There were no on course cameras at all. Rubbish considering that was someone winning their 14th (FOURTEENTH) paralympic GOLD medal.

Dame Sarah Storey wins the C4/5 women's Road Race!

Jessica-Jane Applegate also qualified for the final of the SM14 IM

Sarah Storey has a 2min 15sec lead over the chasing group now. They're surely racing for silver. Under 10km to go.

Quick switch back to the swimming Women's 200m SM14 Individual Medley heat Bethany Firth wins with a Paralympic Record 2.23.78
