Phil Taylor

James Wade

First up this evening is James Wade vs Phil Taylor. The action should be underway shortly after 6:15pm.

James Wade came second in Group B, behind Gary Anderson. So far he has defeated Adrian Lewis 10-3 and Michael Smith 10-5, his group loss being a 10-7 deficit to Gary Anderson. Wade has also totaled two 100+ averages so far in the tournament.

Phil Taylor has a 100% record so far, with defeats of Peter Wright 10-5 and earlier today, Robert Thornton by a 10-2 scoreline. Maybe his most impressive performance so far was a 10-4 defeat of World No.1 MVG last night. Taylor also missed D12 for a 9-darter on Sunday afternoon. The form man.

Taylor was so close to hitting the first ever PDC nine-darter on the BBC earlier, scoring 180, 180, T20 & T19, but then slipping into the 9 segment when going for D12. Taylor was disappointed, embarrassed maybe by the poor last dart, but everyone's heart was racing!

James Wade has had us off our seats with some great finishing in this tournament. Two 161 finishes among them so far, and Wadey is known as being quite possibly the best finisher around the 100-130 mark. When scoring well, which Wade believes he is - he can take it to the Taylor, MVG and Anderson's of this world.

The players are on their way out, we're moments away from the first semi final. Stay tuned for 7 time major winner, James Wade - vs - 16x Champion of the World, Phil Taylor.

The players shake hands, Wade with the throw. It's Throwtime!

Wade with the throw, first dart is a single. Taylor away with a 140 and is wrestling the throw away from Wade.

Taylor 0-1 Wade. Taylor misses two at double. Wade takes out D20 no problem.

The first leg was a hold for Wade, who is edging ahead against the darts in the second. Can Taylor hit straight back?
