Who needs The Journey? Alex Hunter thinks he's too good to play for the Dons? Hi I'm Jody Jamieson, and in an alternate FIFA 17 universe, I play up front for Aberdeen FC, I'm 19 years old, and I'm not overweight. It's quite amazing. I'm here to take you through a season on career mode on FIFA. Can the Dons go one better than last season and win the league? We'll find out!

Quick notes. For some reason, there's no Europe in the first season. I don't know why. There used to be an option to turn it on or off, but I don't know what happened. Perhaps it'll be something that's patched in later. Also, there's no League Cup either, and no lower league opposition for the Scottish Cup. We have a bye to the quarter final. That'll come down the line.

As a note we're playing on World Class difficulty. I expected the fixtures to be the same as the real world too, but no, they're all jumbled up. We start with...

Sevco away. Check my guy giving him the contemptuous look he deserves. Can we get off to a winning start? Can The Rangers win their first ever top flight game?

Great start for the Dons! I get free on the right, and the cutback is dispatched by Niall McGinn. 1-0 Dons!

It doesn't last. Tavernier gets down the right, and his cross is headed home by Michael O'Halloran. 1-1. 6 minutes played. On pace for a 15-15 draw.

McGinn again is the dangerman, and after a run into the box he gets upended by Senderos. Penalty! Clearly there's some lack of realism, in getting a penalty at Ibrox. I get to take. After the initial panic with the new penalty controls, I just settle for placing it down the middle. Their keeper goes. 2-1!

And we add a third before half time. Hammering their defence for pace, I get in behind. My shot is saved, but Kenny McLean slams home the rebound with the goal at his mercy. 3-1 Dons at half time.

And indeed that's how it finishes after a fairly action packed first half, there's nothing much to report. Senderos continues to try and imitate his real life debut with clumsy tackles, but finishes with only a yellow. FT The Rangers 1-3 Aberdeen.

Next up. St Johnstone at home. We line up with the same team.
