Ahoy hoy fellow travellers! Welcome to our coverage of Dundee vs Celtic in the SPFL. I’ll be your host @asnaturalasrain - glad you could join us!

It’s not the most high profile trip ever made to Dundee*, but after that magnificent specimen of a game on Wednesday, Brendan Rodgers will be wanting his side to secure a victory and keep the momentum rolling

Indeed, a word - in the past a fixture in the aftermath of a Champions League tie was often something of a comedown, but such is the quality with which Celtic are performing, there is genuine excitement and anticipation to see the team in action regardless of the competition. It really is quite the transformation.

By contrast, opponents Dundee are not in the best of shape, currently 6 games without a win and only a point off the bottom. Though perhaps manager Paul Hartley will see this as the best time to face Celtic, hoping perhaps they’ve taken their eye off the ball after Wednesday’s exertions.

A win today for Celtic would open up a five point gap between themselves and rivals Hearts. A win for Dundee would catapult them ahead of Inverness and Rangers, although a victory for the Ibrox club in their 3pm game would see them reclaim 7th spot.

The men who will do their talking with their feet. Dundee: Bain, Holt, O'Dea, Low, Williams, O'Hara, McGowan, Teijsse, El Bakhtaoui, Kerr, Gomis. Substitutes: Mitchell, Vincent, Loy, Etxabeguren, Rose, Wighton, Quigley.

Celtic: Gordon, Lustig, Sviatchenko, Simunovic, Tierney, Brown, Bitton, Forrest, Rogic, Sinclair, Dembele. Substitutes: De Vries, Toure, Gamboa, Armstrong, Roberts, McGregor, Griffiths

Surprisingly (perhaps) only one change to the Celtic team from the Man City game, Toure drops out and is replaced by Simunovic. Rod Stewart is also missing from Wednesday, but you’d expect them both to return for the Gladbach game.

So that’s your preamble. I suggest you kick off your shoes and socks, grab yourself a Toblerone, and enjoy the action. As ever, your comments, analysis and top bantz will be gratefully received!
