Week 9 is here. We've had overtime games, missed kicks galore and two tied games in as many weeks. Week 8 saw a BTM record of 8-4, taking us to 72-46 for the season. Let's see what this week has in store.

Atlanta (5-3) @ Tampa Bay (3-4) The Falcons took a big step to getting the fade monkey off their back by toughing out a 1point win over Green Bay and lead the NFC South by 2 games. Bucs can't win at home, go through RBs like the Browns and QBs and need this win to stop Atlanta moving too far ahead in the division race. They won't get it. BTM Pick: Atlanta

Dallas (6-1) @ Cleveland (0-8) The Cowboys rode their win streak to 6, with an Eagle assisted win last week. About the only thing likely to derail them are themselves, Tony Romo remains the elephant in the room. Meanwhile, God has resumed his hate for Cleveland. The Browns managed to turn a comfortable first half lead into another loss. They might win a game, just not this one. Pick: Dallas

Jacksonville (2-5) @ Kansas City (5-2) The Jaguars pulled the trigger on their Offensive Coordinator, but Gus Bradley remains in charge. Such is the mediocrity in their division though, a barnstorming run might get them in the playoffs. The Chiefs got in to concussion protocol trouble with Alex Smith last week, tho Nick Foles was capable in relief. Pick: Kansas City

NY Jets (3-5) @ Miami (3-4) Irresistable force v immovable object? Jets can't defend the pass, Miami have Ryan Tannehill at QB. Jets can defend the run, Miami have Jay Ajayi (400+ yrds in 2 games). Both have 2 game win streaks. This will swing on whether Fitz-magic or Fitz-tragic turns up. Tempted to go for a 0-0 battle of ineffectuality. Pick: Miami

Detroit (4-4) @ Minnesota (5-2) Vikings have lost their last 2 and look like the team we thought they'd be without Bridgewater and Peterson, yet remain on top of the NFC Central as noone else in their can get a run together. The Lions can get level on wins if they prevail here, but they too were unimpressive last time out. Vikes are 3-0 at home, expect 4-0 Pick: Minnesota

Philadelphia (4-3) @ NY Giants (4-3) This is a potentially pivotal match up in these twos seasons. With Dallas likely to go to 7 wins, a W here is key just to maintain the status quo. Giants ride a 2 game win streak while Eagles need to bounce back from the implosion at the end v Dallas. Edge to the home side. Pick: Giants

Pittsburgh (4-3) @ Baltimore (3-4) Since Big Ben went out injured, the Steelers have lost both matches. Good news for them is that he may be back for their visit to bitter rivals. Those rivals are not in good shape. 4 losses on the bounce but somehow still within spitting distance. Win this and these two are tied, half a game up in the division. Pick: Pittsburgh

Carolina (2-5) @ LA Rams (3-4) The Panthers looked like their old selves as they handled a poor set of Cardinals last week. Step 1 in their attempt to get back in the post season race. The Rams also looked more like their old selves, slumping to a 3rd straight defeat, and yet they are just 1.5 games out in the NFC West. Will Cam's bitching get him more calls? Pick: Carolina

New Orleans (3-4) @ San Francisco (1-6) Neither of these sides have made much acquaintance with the concept of defence, though the Saints did make a stand to beat the toothless Seahawks. Sadly for the 49ers, they Saints are very familiar with offence. Pick: New Orleans
