DP World Tour Championship 2016 @robertscross here to run through who we think is going to have a good week. Well, here we are after a long 2016 – the last event is finally upon us as the European Tour heads to Dubai and the Jumeriah Golf Estates the venue.

So this means the Race to Dubai will be decided and Europe’s Number One golfer of 2016 will be crowned. Four golfers CAN still win it, BUT two of them need Henrik Stenson to have a bit of a mare (we’ll look at his chances later). Henrik Stenson, Danny Willett, Alex Noren and Rory McIlroy are those players fighting for top spot.

Lets try and explain what is going to need to happen..... - If Stenson wins DP World Tour Championships he wins the R2D - If Willett wins DP World Tour Championships he wins the R2D

- If Willett finishes 2nd, Noren doesn’t win and Stenson is T3 or worse – he wins R2D - If Willett finishes 3rd, Stenson has to finish in top 9 to win R2D, If Willett is 4th, Stenson has to finish in Top 30 to win R2D.

- For Noren to win R2D he must finish in Top 2, if he is 2nd then Stenson needs to be outside of the top 8 and Willett outside the top 2. If Noren wins DP World Tour Champs, Stenson must finish outside top 2 for Noren to win R2D - Finally, for a McIlroy R2D win, he needs to win DP World Tour Champs, with Stenson outside of the top 2, Willett the top 5 and Noren the top 2.

Crystal clear we know. The easiest thing to do is for us to give you OUR picks and take it from there, but the R2D WILL impact the outcome of this tournament.

Rory McIlroy MUST WIN to have any chance of winning the R2D for the 3rd time in a row, Rory will be up for this. The good news (living in Dubai helps) is in his previous four visits to Jumeriah Estates, the world no.2 has shot a combined total of -60 under par!!! On top of that his worst finish is T5 with two victories and a runner up spot. Rory to win 3/1 with Boyle Sports

Henrik Stenson The R2D leader is in seriously good form, seriously! His last 7 starts on Tour have been as follows 8th, T2, 2nd, T7, 1st, T13, 1st. WOW!

Realistically he should be crowned European No.1 and I can’t see Stenson finishing outside of the Top 5, to go along with his incredible form (apart from a blip last season) he loves it at the venue. Back to back wins in 2013 and 2014 show the Swede knows his way around. Stenson to win (E/W top 5 at ¼) is 11/2 with betfair

Branden Grace Excellent 3rd place last week in South Africa and we’re going to back him again this week. Grace is a big event player and has had a solid 2016 season; he’s 15th in the world and 6th in the R2D rankings. In his last 4 visits to this event he has had 3 top 10 finishes, we see him adding to this. Grace Top 10 finish is 13/8 with BETFRED
