Hero Challenge: Betting Preview

HERO CHALLENGE Betting Preview by @robertscross Tiger Woods Top 5 finish is 6/1 with betfair Jordan Speith to WIN is 6/1 with BETBRIGHT To win (EW Top 4 - 1/4 odds) is 25/1 with bet36

Tiger is BACK!! (Sort of) - Its an event which doesn't count for FedEx Cup points, - The prize money doesn't get added to any of the tours money lists, - Played on a resort Tiger helped to design, - Tiger is a member of the Els designed course - AND the field is only 18 players............

Larne Tracey

No cut as well?? So will def play 4 rounds.... if he activates his glutes!!

So yes, Tiger is back playing golf but its a gentle re-introduction, like a monthly medal with two mates in your group! Bigger tests to follow, but its great for the game to have Tiger back, hopefully fit and raring to go (WIN)

HERO CHALLENGE is played in The Bahamas at Albany resort, the field is made up of 18 players, the most recent winners of the four PGA majors, the top 11 available players from the Official World Golf Ranking, the defending champion, and 2 special exemption players

Due to the strength of the field, the event does qualify as a none money event on PGA Tour and offers World Ranking points.

If Tiger currently 898th in the world finishes the event below are approx rises in the rankings 18th (last) up to 745th 10th up to 575th 5th up to 450th 2nd up to 225th 1st up to 123rd BUT if Tiger withdraws he’ll receive no points and drop outside the top 900.

Now with the field so small, we'll only be picking 3 players this week. And with MOST players taking a break prior to this week its a tough call to make !

First Up EMILIANO GRILLO PGA Tour Rookie of the Year 2016. Grillo had a impressive break through season and we're picking him based on the reason he has something to prove, to continue on from last season, had a top 10 in the last PGA Tour event AND mainly he's actually been playing !!! To win (EW Top 4 - 1/4 odds) is 25/1 with bet365

Jordan Speith T4th last season at Albany, and a winner of the event in 2014 shows Speith seems to enjoy this time of the year. He's recently changed his irons to the 2016 version of Titleist AP2s and was immediately rewarded with a victory (via a play-off) at Australian Open a few weeks ago. Jordan Speith to WIN is 6/1 with BETBRIGHT

Tiger Woods (Top 5 not to WIN!!) We covered his first comeback withdrawal and in summary i reported that he wasn't going to come back if he didn't think he could win. Tiger thinks he can win HERO CHALLENGE. Small field, familiar course and lots of positive media coverage - we're backing Tiger to have a good week. Tiger Woods Top 5 finish is 6/1 with betfair
