Michael Van Gerwen

Gary Anderson

Replay the complete final in it's full glory here...

"The boy's quite good" is perhaps understatemant of the year from Gary.

If we're lucky, this was the reception for the runner up.

And this might be the presentation to MvG

And the final stats from the match. 42 180s. Gary's 22 a record for a match. Small consolation.

A few words from the runner up. "If you'd offered me 3 finals in 3 years I'd have been very happy." - "Michael faces a struggle to better Phil, so many good young players coming through now, but he's younger, fitter" - "thought it was an official presentation when the guy stormed the stage" - "looking forward to just getting out of bed tomorrow, body is in bits"

He was "feeling good at 2-2", but after the break "couldn't hit a barn door with a shovel". "First dart was going in too low, so aimed higher with the 2nd dart and had it go in at the same spot". Genuinely great bloke Gary, he's obviously disappointed but cracking jokes and nothing but praise for MvG

Your champion is doing his bit for the Dutch press.

Dutch PM on the phone, takes priority.

"Been waiting for that for a few years". Interestingly, he has less trouble with "phenomenal" than Gary.
