London Marathon



Hello everybody and welcome, I'm Ewan here with the London Marathon. The Wheelchair racers are about to begin. Women's race will start at 9:15 Men's Start at 10:00 same as the everyday heroes that make this race what it is .

David Weir is going for his 7th London Marathon title. We'll see how he does, Paralympic title holder Marcel Hug will be fighting him all the way. Also Fearnley will be going for the title. And we start... NOW!

Lots of other disabled races are going on today, All for the IPC World Cup.

I will be focusing on the Wheelchair race and elite fully abled races.

Still a big pack in the Wheelchair, 10 minutes in and no gaps, we come into a big downhill section which makes a few tiny gaps but it'll come together in a moment.

The BBC talk to a couple that are getting married as well as run the Marathon, now, the Elite Women. 4 GB Women in this all fighting for qualifying to the World Athletics Championship in London in August.

Now, the women have asked for a world record pace from the pacemakers!

18 man pack in the wheelchair, all the main contenders still in the pack, no breakaway.

Top 3 British Women's racer get to be in the world championship! So that's a race in a race! The First Mile is run in 5:15 in the Women's.
