Good afternoon one and all! @TimBonvilleGinn here once again! Today is a very very slow day which is very flat. 50km to go with a 3 man break of Maestri, Marcato and Firsanov. It's looking very much like it'll be a day for the sprinters!

So we rejoin the peloton after the Eurosport ad break! 47km to go with 3'29" gap, unless the peloton does a California, the break will come back!

Castelfranco Emilia is the town the break has just ridden through, peloton still riding through with Quickstep, Lotto Soudal, Orica Scott pushing the peloton's pace up and Bora Hangrohe in and out of that relay

I really hope Jakub Mareczko can pick the right wheels today and maybe pull off a huge huge surprise! It would be fantastic to see

Julen Amezqueta, Mareczko's main lead out man, has a rear puncture!! He's back riding now but how much energy has he used to get back? 28km and the gap has plummeted! 1'28"

Simon Geschke with a rear wheel puncture! Bad day for him today, he was left at the hotel by the team bus!!

So I'm going to pick Sam Bennett! Why not? He's had two third places and has looked very good in the sprints! Can the Irishman take his first grand tour win?

The pace is very hight now! Just 21km to go! This has flown by tanks to the guys in the peloton! Absolutely flying out there! 50" gap

Oh now then, the pace has slowed up! 18km to go and Orica are having a laugh with Sunweb!! 37" as the break are killing themselves to stay out

Juul-Jensen turn up the pace again for Orica Scott. 16km now answer the gap holding at 33"
