Tour de France 2017: Stage 4

Cycling

ByTheMinCycle

Hello everybody! Ewan here with more sweets talk and hopefully the odd cycling comment! Today is a fairly boring stage, mostly flat, and only one in the breakaway. The man in the breakaway is van Keirsbulck, we join the race with 96km to go and a gap of 6:15

A hello to all the 2 people on BTM reading this live instead of trying to keep up with the exciting things that's going on in Wimbledon.

But remember that you can keep up with our TDF Coverage and all of Wimbledon coverage at www.bytheminute.co/live

So after yesterday's stage the Sky team got 8th and 9th with Thomas and Froome, this gave them 1st and 2nd in the GC, so another great start in the GC for Britain and Sky.

After yesterday, Sagan, Matthews and Demare gained many points in the Points Category (Sprinting Basically for new readers). Kittel still leads though with 66 points, Demare up to 2nd with 57, Sagan skyrockets to 3rd with 50.

Cavendish however is in 7th with 31 points, but he will be hoping to get many points today with a stage victory. The KOM Classification however has barely any point in talking about as basically no points have been handed out and to no one important.

However in the Young Classification Latour is in the lead for AG2R, Ahead by 15 seconds from Lutsenko and Kung, Yates is in 5th though but only 20 seconds back.

van Keirsbulck meanwhile has lost time, a lot of time, his gap is tumbling, so he may get caught quite easily, then maybe there will be another breakaway? 83km to go, 4:40 gap.

Now for some possible stage winners today! It is very flat, with an incline of but 1.7% in the last km, but it decreases in the last 500m. So this will be a predictable stage finish.

So i'd go for the usual suspects, Sagan, Kittel, Greipel, Cavendish etc
