Morning tennis fans. This is basically Christmas morning for all of us, right? 16 matches being played in the men's and women's singles today. How cool is that?! Even better that here on ByTheMinute you can follow every single one minute-by-minute! Aye, all 16! Incredible. I'm Roddy Graham here for Magdalena Rybarikova v Petra Martic and this is how we CUE THE MUSIC!

Now I think it's fair to say that there will be more popular matches than Rybarikova vs Martic going on at Wimbledon today. But for these two it gives a massive opportunity to reach a Grand Slam quarter final. The women's draw is the most open in years. WIn today and you're two away from the final! Crazy.

Rybarikova comes in quite far down the tennis pecking order at world no.87. She had a highest ranking of 31 in 2013. This is the first time she's ever reached week two of any Grand Slam. A massive opportunity.

Petra Martic has been in round 4 of a slam in the past; she reached this stage in the French Open in 2012 and earlier this year. Her world ranking, though, is down at 88. her peak was 42 in 2012. Again, a massive opportunity for her too. This is almost certain to be a tight one!

Just waiting on the BBC Sport stream to start, well, streaming the action from court 18. I'm hoping that this update will give them the prod they need to connect the wires at Wimbledon to the wires inside their Salford HQ.

AHA! We have live pictures. Players out on court and doing their warmups. Plenty sunshine in SW19 right now. There was a wee worry that there was going to be some showers last night, but it seems they've decided to let play go on uninterrupted. Here's hoping the clouds don't change their minds!

This is comfortably the first time I've seen these two play. Early observations...they are both very leggy! Both players are 5'11" and would tower over a lot of people. I'm expecting some fine serving in this battle. Both come in with an identical record of winning 6 sets and dropping just one.

This is the first meeting of Rybarikova and Martic. Our chair umpire is called Julie. She's got the shades on already. We're almost ready to start on Court 18.

Rybarikova will get us under way. Decent enough sized crowd for the early play. Not quite a full house but only just shy of it. Martic makes a good fist of the opening exchange. Good lob takes her to a 15-30 lead. Forces a BP with a fine forehand winner too. Impressive. Rybarikova skies a return. We have a break!

Martic has settled far quicker than her opponent. Striking the ball well and looking very capable in the early exchanges. Rybarikova does hit a superb winner right into the corner at 40-0 though. It's as good as it gets though. 2-0 Martic!
