Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the 2nd day of the 2nd Test between England and South Africa from Trent Bridge, Rob Sutton with you for the first session.

Honours were even on the first day at Trent Bridge, South Africa made 309-6, England probably not at their best especially in the final hour so England will be looking to finish the South Africans off this morning.

It's an overcast morning in Nottingham, the lights are on but we are expecting to start on time, threat of rain through this morning and afternoon but hopefully it will miss us.

A very useful 74 run partnership between Philander and Morris for the 7th wicket for South Africa, they will resume shortly.

Shaun Pollock giving a very interesting masterclass on fast bowling, what a bowler he was.

Players are out, very grey at Trent Bridge, this feels like a bowling day, Philander has 54 and Morris 23 for South Africa.

Philander is taking strike for South Africa, it'll be James Anderson from the Radcliffe Road End but we've got a slight delay because the umpires have decided we need to change the ball.

Here we go then....

OUT! What a start for England! Philander goes c Dawson b Anderson for 54 (81b), 309-7

Keshav Maharaj is the new man for South Africa
