It's Wimbledon It's Ladies Final Day Venus Rosewater Dish on the line Garbine Muguruza(14) Vs Venus Williams(10)

The roof is closed on Centre Court for the rain and it doesn't look like it will be opening any time soon

Both ladies appearance in the final is remarkable in their own right. Muguruza has really struggled since winning the French Open in 2016 and this is her first final since then. She has been really helped by the presence of Conchita Martinez, who won here in 1994, in her coaching box

Venus has struggled with injury in previous years but has worked her way back remarkably and this is now her 2nd slam final of the year, losing to her sister in Australia earlier this year. Previously, she had not been in a slam final since 2009.

Shortly before Wimbledon, she was involved in a car crash where the man in the other car passed away. She has found this difficult to deal with and had a very emotional interview following her round 1 victory : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tennis/2017/07/03/venus-williams-burts-tears-wimbledon-press-conference-questioned/

This will be Williams' 9th Wimbledon final having won 5 titles here. Muguruza has reached the final here once previously in 2015 where she lost to Serena Williams

Muguruza's route to the final: Round 1: Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-2 6-4 Round 2: Yanina Wickmayer 6-2 6-4 Round 3: Sorana Cirstea 6-2 6-2 Round 4: Angelique Kerber 4-6 6-4 6-4 Quarter Finals: Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-3 6-4 Semi Finals: Magdalena Rybarikova 6-1 6-1

Muguruza hasn't struggled too much on her route to the final. Her toughest match was against the world number 1 in round 4 where she managed to come through in 3 tight sets

Williams route to the final: Round 1: Elise Mertens 7-6 6-4 Round 2: Qiang Wang 4-6 6-4 6-1 Round 3: Naomi Osaka 7-6 6-4 Round 4: Ana Konjuh 6-3 6-2 Quarter Finals: Jelena Ostapenko 6-3 7-5 Semi Finals: Johanna Konta 6-4 6-2

Williams has also had a fairly simple progression to the final partly due to how well she has been playing. In that semi she really overpowered Konta and if she plays like that today she could beat Muguruza by a similar score
