The Open 2017: Round 3

Hello folks and welcome to day 3 of The Open Championship from Royal Birkdale, Im Chris Rolfe and I'll be taking you through to 1:30pm

The big ones will be heading off 3-4pm so thats when the action heats up but right now we've got some back markers attempting to make their move on "moving day"

Lee Westwood is one man who's had a cracking front 9, out in 31 to move up to +2, you'd feel he has to get under par to have any shout tomorrow

Another big mover is Shaun Norris, starting the day on +5 having just made the cut, he's -4 thru 14 holes and into a tie for 20th

It seems like a very good scoring day, plenty of red numbers on my leaderboard, Monty saying that he's expecting the Birkdale course scoring record of 63 to be broken today so 8 under is the magic number

The back 9 seems to have been better for scoring this week so could Westwood or even Norris threaten that record

Butch being more realistic and saying he thinks we'll be seeing 64's and 65's today, we'll have to wait and see, Westwood has a really good chance for birdie on 10 as well now

Westwood has about 15 feet for his birdie, swinging from right to left, didn't hit it, left it way short and will take par to stay at +2

Jason Day on 9, he's 2 under for his round so far and has a great look for birdie, Andy Sullivan is on the green at 9 but in a different postcode, monster birdie putt for the Englishman

Just looking at the tee times for the leaders, Rory and Gary Woodland go off at 3:25 followed by the relatively unknown pair of Canada's Austin Connelly and Scotlands Richie Ramsay
