World Athletics Championships 2017

Men's javelin qualification going on as well. 'Mr. Youtube Man' Julius Yego (KEN) has made the automatic qualifying mark with his first throw. We've got a record as well - Johannes Vetter (GER) has just made the fastest qualifying throw in championship history with 91.20m. Should be a tasty final on saturday.

First of our British 800m runners out on track in the 2nd heat. Shelayna Oskan-Clarke starts in lane 9. She's in fourth on the outside as the bell goes.

Guerrero of Spain has decided to make this one fast but she's gone too early and drops on the top bend. Strong finish from Oskan-Clarke down the inside to take the final automatic Q. Angelika Cichocka (POL) with the win, Melissa Bishop (CAN) in second.

Here's a javelin stat for you...

Strong dive from Vetter on that throw as well. Solid 9/10.

Morgan Lake goes clear on the second qualifying height of 1.85m. And KJT is over as well!

Heat 3 of the women's 800m, Caster Semenya goes in this one. Almanaz of Cuba also there in lane 9.

Natoya Goule (JAM) has taken this one from the start. She's dying on the home straight though and comes in fourth. Semenya just put on the burners when she needed to, takes it in 2:01.33.

Rose Mary Almanaz in 2nd, and Joanna Jozwik (POL) with a cracking sprint down the home straight to take third.

4th of 6 800m heats lining up. Lynsey Sharp in lane 6. Should qualify without much trouble. Margaret Wambui also in this heat, probably Semenya's closest challenger but the Kenyan has had a mixed time of it since the Olympics.
