Atletico Madrid

Evening! Barcelona make there first ever visit to the Wanda Metropolitano to face Atletico Madrid with the chance to mooch back to seven points clear of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga. But Atletico are a very decent side, obviously, and can leapfrog back over there city rivals into 2nd with victory today, Real Madrid having won 2-1 at Getafe earlier on.

This is the Atletico team for tonight's match.

And Barcelona's XI. Messi needs no rest after his Argentinian heroics in the week.

There will be no Barcelona fans in the Wanda Metropolitano tonight due to "logistical problems." Which is an odd way to describe a massive controversial referendum with a bit of police brutality on the side. But, whatever. Logistics.

The teams head out of the tunnel, greeted by a massive Atletico roar, and a crowd which have Spanish flags a plenty. The hosts will be in traditional red and white, Barcelona in lovely light blue.

1' Barcelona get the game underway!

1' Messi nearly scores after 30 seconds! Lovely football from Barcelona after Atletico give the ball away cheaply. Messi breaks into the box but is closed out, however a lucky break gives him half a view of goal, he pokes at the ball but it's blocked and bobbles inches wide.

4' Iniests dribbles into the box, loses the ball but Atletico don't want it, so they give him it back, allowing the Barca captain the opportunity to shoot from the corner of the box but his curling effort is straight at Oblak.

7' Griezmann is getting into some promising positions, twice snuffed out before getting a shot away, and then denied by ter Stegen after battering a shot towards the near post from Correa's through ball.

9' ter Stegen denies Griezmann again, this time with his feet as the Frenchman makes a clever run and stabs in a powerful shot that is only denied by the keeper's left boot.
