Goood evening! Welcome to this glamour international friendly, as what is effectively England B, face a relatively strong German side. It's the start of the warm up for the World Cup, which this game will tell us precisely nothing about from an England point of view. Unless Tammy Abraham rips them apart, then we might learn something.

This is the England side. Debuts for Pickford, Loftus-Cheek and Abraham. I mean, lets not beat around the bush here, it's a shit team.

This is the German side. They've got a few injuries but it still looks like a very decent side.

Everyone knows about the often futile nature of international friendlies, but I don't get England's logic in this game and the one against Brazil as preparation for the World Cup. It's no good learning how to play against these sides if at tournaments we fail to make it to the stage of paying these sides because we struggle against shite like Russia and Slovakia and Costa Rica.

What I'm saying is that surely it would make more sense to play friendlies against the more middle ranking teams, the teams that normally trip us up, so we can learn how to beat them?

A few shambles to report on. England are wearing their blue away kit to keep Nike happy. Also, for the first time in Britain, VAR will be used. So we can watch referees watching a screen and still getting the decision wrong.

Anyway, anthem time. The German mostly look like they don't know the words. God Save The Queen follows and, as usual, players, fans and music are all at different times.

There are also wreaths placed and a minute of silence in advance of Armistice Day.

1' Germany get the game underway!

2' Nearly a disastrous start for England, as John Stones went into kamikaze back pass mode but Pickford reacted well to just beat Werner to the ball.
