Good afternoon everyone. It's December, it's getting close to Christmas. And that means one thing. DARTS! It's day 3 of the world championship from the Ally Pally and Alistair Sargent is with you to bring you the very best of the action. Cue the music...

So what's in store today? Well we've one preliminary round fixture and three first round matches. Brendan Dolan vs Alan Ljubic in the prelims, winner will play Robert Thornton in round one in the session's final fixture. Between that we'll see Benito van de Pas vs Steve West and Mervyn King vs Zoran Lerchbacher.

Players are on stage for our opening contest. Brendan Dolan and Alan Ljubic competing for a place in round one. Best of three sets. Game on...

Ljubic with the darts in the opening leg. But Dolan has started 140, 180. Break on in the first leg?

Dolan 1 - 0 Ljubic Break of throw indeed! 12 dart leg from Dolan, finished on 82. 25, 17, tops for the Irishman.

Dolan still using the 'history maker' nickname. So you got a double-in, double-out 9 darter on TV? Let it go man!! We've all done it...

Dolan 1 - 1 Ljubic Break back! Ljubic breaks in 14 darts but it's uncoventional to say the least. He leaves 56 and lands in D16 rather than the single. No panic from the Croat though and he lands D12 to clean it up.

Dolan 2 - 1 Ljubic Another break of throw. Ljubic's scoring deserts him and despite missing a fair few darts at a double Dolan secures the break. Now throwing for the set.

Dolan 3 - 1 Ljubic There's the first set for Dolan. But dear me he made hard work of that. He hit the games first 180 and was in total control, but from 176 in 6 darts he was still on 90. He couldn't take that out and Ljubic had three darts at D10 to take the set to a deciding leg but all three missed. Dolan pounced and took out 25 on D8 with his last dart in hand.
