World Darts Championship

Good evening everyone! Time for Day Seven of the World Darts Championship. Shocks galore so far, with seeds crashing out all over the place. Let's see what tonight brings. @Ugster1 with you for it.

First things first, the schedule for this evening: Xiao Chen Zong v Bernie Smith (Preliminary) - best of 3 sets Michael Smith v Steve Lennon Simon Whitlock v Martin Schindler Justin Pipe v Xiao Chen Zong/Bernie Smith The three latter matches all best of five sets.

So Adrian Lewis the big casualty yesterday after losing to Kevin Munch. Names tonight not so big, perhaps, but will be interesting to see how Smith and Whitlock do. The winner of the Pipe/Prelim match will face Phil Taylor in the next round.

Good of them to put Pipe last, so the Ally Pally patrons can be gently put to sleep. I won't criticise, but his slow style doesn't suit everyone! Right, back shortly with the prelim match...

Here we go then, prelim match just about to kick off - Zong with the honour...

First Set - Zong 0:1 Smith Smith has started well, Zong looking a little shaky. Nice 14 darter to break the throw for Smith.

First Set - Zong 0:2 Smith Zong hits the first 180 of the match, but Smith checks out 46 for a 15 dart lead and a solid hold.

First Set - Zong 0:3 Smith Zong looking more comfortable, but Smith still gets well ahead. His finishing not so good this time, but still manages to take the leg and set with d5.

Smith leads 1 set to 0 Second Set - Zong 0:1 Smith Second maximum of the match also goes to Zong, and he's settling in now. But he misses three at d19, and Smith takes out 80, finishing on d16.

Smith leads 1 set to 0 Second Set - Zong 1:1 Smith Zong gets a long way ahead, and needs 56 to finish. Misses d20, but comes back - only needs one dart the next time, and he's off the mark.
