West Ham

Goooooood afternoon! This tie ticks a lot of FA Cup boxes, doesn't it? High flying lower league side? Check. Struggling premier league side? Check. At the lower league club? Check. West Ham go to Shrewsbury hoping to avoid the giantkilling, secure themselves a place in the fourth round, and look back on a busy spell of three games in six days with satisfaction.

Shrewsbury sit second in league one and are five points clear of third. They've gone full strength, and it's a full strength side in form.

West Ham have included a few youngsters, a few regulars and a few on rotation, with Charles Joseph Hart starting in goal. They don't have a great deal of experience on the bench.

There's an early cup kick off taking place at Newport as I type, and Newport have just got level against Leeds thanks to a superb own goal. In a round three relatively short of upsets, Newport are looking to secure one for themselves.

Newport lead! And Leeds may be heading out at the league two side. There's just a single minute to go there. Meanwhile, kick off at Shrewsbury is in 20 minutes.

And Newport are through. Can Shrewsbury follow up that with a second cupset of the day? Well the teams march out at New Meadow, greeted with a roar from the sold out crowd and kick off is moments away.

1' West Ham get the game underway!

3' The opening three minutes are among the worst three minutes of football I've ever seen. Proper kick and rush start to the cup tie.

5' The sun is blinding Joe Hart and the West Ham defence in this first half. Shrewsbury may be wise to do a bit of route one lumping to test the eyesight of the Hammers backline out.

8' Nothing has happened in this opening 8 minutes, but Shrewsbury have settled into the game well.
