Good evening everyone, or should I say guten Abend! After a winter break the Bundesliga is back and Bayern Munich's procession to the title continues at fourth placed Leverkusen. Alistair Sargent your eyes and ears this evening to bring you all the action from this one.

Bayern kick off the second half of the season a massive 11 points ahead at the top of the table. Leverkusen battling for a Champions League spot.

Team news headlines are that Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski join Manuel Neuer on the casualty list for Bayern. Not that it really matters, they'll still leather everybody. They can afford to leave new signing Sandro Wagner on the bench, with Thomas Muller set to lead the line. Big striker Wagner is going to wear the number 2 shirt in a tribute to his hero, Wilf Bony...

So the teams are out and the captain's shake hands. The 2018 Bundesliga action about to get going. Leverkusen have made the BayArena something of a fortress recently but tonight they faced the most powerful of visiting forces. And away we go...

Leverkusen in all red, Bayern in all white. A tribute to the 1983 European Cup Winners Cup final between Aberdeen and Real Madrid I'm reliably told by our sources.

Leverkusen pressing Bayern with real intent early. Hunting the ball down all over the park. They've enjoyed some success with it in the opening 3 minutes. Frantic start.

4| Big early chance for Bayern. Robben is released 1-on-1 with Tah on the right hand side. Bayern bodies flock forward to support him and it eventually becomes a 4-on-3, with Robben finding Ribery in space inside the box but the Frenchman takes a poor touch and by the time the ball drops his shot is blocked. Rodriguez follows up and is tripped right on the edge of the box.

5| Rodriguez takes the free-kick himself from almost on the bye line on the left, clips it in and Tah heads it away allowing Leverkusen to break. Brandt on the right sends it in to Bailey in the box but his touch is loose and Bayern can scramble it clear. 0-0 but some good early signs that his this game will be lively.

7| Ribery and Alaba link up on the left for Bayern before Ribery tries a one-two with Vidal at the edge of the box but runs right in to a Leverkusen shirt and makes a hopeful appeal for a penalty that the referee has no interest in, unsurprisingly.
