Good evening everyone! We have a packed night of tennis up for you tonight; Sue and I will be pulling double duty, as I cover the Sharapova-Sevastova match, and she covers the Konta-Pera match. What more could you want? You can keep track of both on the live page here; https://www.bytheminute.co/live

If this match is anything like the encounter between these two at the US open last year, we are set for a thriller. One thing we do have to factor in though, is the HEAT! Today is set to be up to 37*C, which will test even the fittest of bodies.

The last time these two met actually ended in a three-set win for Sevastova, which I neglected to mention. D'oh!

I have to confess, I haven't watched either of these 2 thus far this Australian Open, so I can't even make an informed prediction. They're obviously both playing well enough to get through their opening rounds, but I'm actually going to go for another Sevastova win, in 3.

Right, I have no idea what Eurosport are doing. This was supposed to be coverage of Sharapova's match, but we're seeing Radwanska-Tsurenko. Hmmmm...

Not to worry, I'll bring up Eurosport Player and get going.

So, the players are already on court, and the warm-up has begun.

Right, here we go! Sharapova to serve.

Not much Sevastova could do with that first serve; 15-0. Some fabulous angles from Sharapova there, whipping the ball from side to side, and finishing with a cross-court winner; 30-0. ACE; 40-0. Nice forehand down the line from Sharapova, and she gets the hold.

I've just noticed some pretty heavy-duty strapping on Sevastova's thigh, so we'll have to keep an eye and see if that's hampering her in any way.
