So, it's Simona Halep vs Caroline Wozniacki for the Australian Open title. A maiden grand slam title and the number one ranking on the line. Should be another cracker. That's all from me, in an hour or so we'll see Kyle Edmund take on Marin Cilic in his maiden slam semi final. I've been Hannah, thanks for following!!

That was a match worthy of any slam final. Both players raising their level game after game, but it's Halep who will be playing in the final proper on Saturday. Kerber loses her first match of the year, by the smallest of small margins.

GAME SET MATCH. SIMONA HALEP. 6-3 4-6 9-7. What. A. Match.

Two backhands to the corner, then a forehand to the other side, MATCH POINT HALEP...

SAVED. Deep cross court forehand to force Halep long. Deuce.

Another phenomenal rally, Halep on her backhand, Kerber digging in. Cross court backhand, Kerber goes long. MATCH POINT HALEP.

Kerber again serving to stay in the match. Starts off with an error on the backhand, 01-5. Forehands to both sides from Halep, one down the line then over to the other side for the winner, 0-30. And then somehow she misses the easier shot! 15-30. Another poor return, 30-30.

Forehand winner, and a slick move into the net from Halep, 30-0. Halep drops one short, and Kerber is in to put away the forehand winner. 30-15. Error on the backhand from Halep, 30-30. Followed up with a nice disguised forehand down the line. And another down the line winner to bring up the hold to 30. 8-7*.

I don't know how Halep is still getting across the baseline like this. Kerber is pushing her from the centre baseline, but it's taking everything to force the error. 15-0. Quick move into the net from Halep for a volley winner, 15-15. Two backhand errors from Halep, 40-15. Service winner, challenged. Plum on the line. Kerber holds.

Not a bad time to throw down an ace! Halep's 5th for 15-0. Forehand into the net for 15-15. Halep again finding the line with a cross court backhand, forces Kerber to net. 30-15. And she makes it again! Down the line forehand for 40-15. The games ends as it began - with an ace. 7-6*
