That was....weird. Halep with a mini bottle serving for the set at 5-0, then Kerber seemingly remembered she's actually a pretty good tennis player! A more respectable 6-3 scoreline. Who knows what's going to happen in this second set!

It's Halep serving to begin the second set. She steps inside to get over a forehand down the line winner, then more excellent serving from the Romanian gets her ahead 40-0. The net cord falls kindly for Halep, who doesn't have to adjust too much to hit her next forehand. Kerber nets to give Halep the opening hold. 1-0*

Eurosport have decided that midway through the women's SF is an ideal time to broadcast an interview with Kyle Edmund. Kerber up 30-15 , takes a couple steps back to rip a forehand winner for 40-15. Little early on a forehand from Kerber, nets for 40-30. Halep's forehand pings up off the net cord, allowing Kerber to step in and whack the winner. 1-1 and that's a big 'COME ON' from Kerber.
