Good morning everyone! Strap yourselves in, we're off right away... Marin Cilic to serve.

Cilic looks a bit tight on the first point and Edmund has an easy winner at the net. He pulls it back to 15 all but again isn't into his stride and Edmund looks the more comfortable, an early 2 break points! Cilic find a couple of walloping serves to get to deuce and again to Advantage. Loses a challenge and we're back at deuce. Eventually Cilic closes it out. 1-0

Kyle is looking very composed to me. As I say that he sends one long and we're at 30-30 on his serve. A reasonably comfortable hold in the end though. 1-1

Big first serve from Cilic to start the next game - doesn't come back. Nor does the second serve on the next point. That's a hefty second serve from Cilic... not as easy to bully as Grigor's, earlier in the week. Kyle treats us to a hefty shot of his own, *that* forehand for 30-15. Goes for it again to level 30-30 but it lands long. 30-15 An easy hold for Cilic.

So, after that very quick start to today's proceedings... let's just remind ourselves of the H2H between these guys. It won't take long! They have met just once previously, in R32 of the Shanghai Masters last year. That was a straight sets win for Cilic and both players have had quite a year since then. The optimist in me is holding on to Dan Evans beating Cilic in Oz last year.

Kyle still looking a little unsettled to me. Thankfully the serve is looking good but some very wayward forehands so far. Quickly up to 30-30 in this game. Kyle goes for a big serve out wide - but it's TOO wide. Fabulous rally.... just as you think Cilic will make the winner down the line, it flies into the trams. 40-30 Massive serve to finish and it's 2-2.

I don't watch Cilic often.... when did he start taking lessons from Novak on ball bouncing?! It's working though. A short rally off the first point, two big serves and an ACE! The first love game of the match and Cilic leads 3-2.

Good first serve down the middle takes the next point for Kyle. A big return from Cilic, backed up with a weighty forehand and he levels 15-15. Virtually the same again for Cilic to punish the next point too - that particular serve needs a little adjustment. Cilic has TWO break points. The first return is long - first break point SAVED!

The net intervenes in the next point and the ball flicks off into the trams. Cilic BREAKS! Cilic leads 4-2.

Cilic is having a great passage of play right now. Edmund? Not so much. Two more solid serves from Cilic for 30-0. A big cross court forehand gets him on the board in this game. 30-15 Kyle still struggling to connect with the return on the Cilic serve. Cilic goes for a big serve down the T to finish but it's long. 40-15
