Looks like Laird drops a shot at 11, first blemish on his card. Chez from the left rough on 8 - not bad, short of the green but still a bit of work up and down for par. Rickie in prime position - knocks it into about 7ft. Hole that and he's right back in it. Rahm from the gravel - what a shot ! Gets it to about 10ft short of the flag.

Phil on 9 - gets a members bounce. Prime position now. Reeve putting from the dip on 8 - great putt, cosies it up, dead on line, just a fraction short. Rahm first for birdie on 8 - right in the middle ! He's on a roll.

Poults on 16 - avoids the S word but puts it into the green side bunker. That is one tricky pin position though! Rickie on - needs this and he's popped it straight in. Can he get something going now?

Getting very tight at the top and 10 players within 4 shots of the leaders at -16. The back 9 here, actually the last 5 holes, are going to decide this and should be very interesting (as Butch might say).

Back with the action. Some beardy hipster with reflective sunglasses at 16. Oh it's that swimmer guy. Phelps. Phil plays a cracker and Brendan Steele now making a move. Back to the leaders - Rahm smashes it up 9, but it drops into the thick stuff. Rickie with 3 wood and lays it up short of the bunker. Hmmm. Finally Reavie who just misses the sand and is on a good place.

Phil Bob on 9 - 11ft or so to get to -14. Nope, drifts away to the left. Big moment that in his round. Steele on 11 at -14, decent effort. Chance to move up the field. Rickie out of the first cut - very difficult shot with the flag at the front. Not a bad effort from there. Chez next - safely aboard but 30ft away. Rahm from 107. Hacked out and in trouble.

Kuch still at -13 through 12 as his long putt just fails to drop. He swears at the camera* *Not really, this is Kuch remember.

Phil drives the ball into the stands. Nice one. Rahm from the sand - terrible lie and he's going to give one back here at 9. Decent putt from Reavie, should be OK for par. Safe par for Rickie and out in 34, 1 under. Not setting the world on fire !

Rahm pars it hahaha

Watching on iPad so got a bit of lag in my coverage. No spoilers lol !

Woodland falling behind - after being in a lot of trouble he's got a 5 footer for bogey. Rahm rolls in a 25 footer, long right to left for par. What a player. This guy is a shoo-in for the Ryder Cup and I for one can't wait. Reavie tidies up for -3 for the front 9.
