Can’t tell you much about Basel but for city that’s maybe the strongest 11 available (although equally that could involve stones and Laporte) with delph coming back in and then David Silva and Leroy Sané on the bench. Depending on how the match goes Foden might be able to make a third champions league appearance of the season.

Nearly time for kick off now. Captains are shaking hands and laughing a lot with the officials so seems like everyone’s in a good mood

Stones has been very good in this competition so far this season and sané and silva both played a significant part but hopefully city won’t struggle without them. Basel kick off and go on the attack but city can clear (1)

Bernardo silva does well to keep the ball in long enough for city to win a corner which they play short before walker is fouled by oberlin (2)

First chance of the game is a header from gundogan which the keeper saves. City end up with two corners after that before it goes out for a throw in (3)

Sterling nearly gets to the ball in the box but the ball is taken from him well and he’s offside anyway (4)

The Basel players somehow get confused while attacking and ederson can take the ball. City players then think oberlin is offside and ederson is caught off his line but oberlin’s soft, uncertain shot is collected by otamendi. Could easily have scored (6)

City playing a very very high line and nearly getting caught out. Basel nearly get caught out as well after a powerful run from sterling and some poor clearances (7)

Juventus are doing well so far, higuain already on a hat trick if you can believe that. Both teams breaking very very easily in this game, every player but ederson in basel’s half (10)
