74' Wasps retrieve the ball from a messy looking maul, and have the ball on the Exeter 10m line. Slow ball, but Wasps are just about making ground. Watson puts a nice kick into touch to pin Exeter back on their own 22 once again.

75' Stolen by Wasps again! Danger for Exeter with Bassett out wide!

75' Rowlands drops the ball backwards, and Wasps still have the ball but they're going backwards... Penalty for Wasps as Exeter kick the ball out of a ruck. They'll go for the posts.

No mistake from Gopperth. PENALTY to Wasps, and Exeter need a converted try for the win.

79' Exeter have the ball on the Wasps 10m line, and have less than two minutes to score the try. They're not making much ground...

80' Here come the defending champions though, over the 10m line in the 12th phase, but they're not going any further as the phases rack up. Ball stolen by Wasps! THey've gone into touch, but with 5 seconds to go and Exeter take the lineout quickly...

80' Cordero with a run into the Wasps half, but Exeter are tackled into touch, and that's the game. Final score is 13-7 to Wasps.

A hard fought match, with Wasps deserving winners. Exeter pressed hard for the win, but weren't effective enough in attack, and paid the price for failing to capitalise on a number of good positions in the first half.

That's Exeter's third loss in a row, for the first time in three years. It also sees them relenquish their spot at the top of the Premiership table, having been overhauled by Saracens despite a 10-point lead less than two months ago. Wasps continue a run of good form, and are within four points of Exeter in the table as they look to secure a home semi final in the spring.

It doesn't get any easier for either team, with Wasps travelling to 4th-placed Gloucester next and Exeter facing new league leaders Saracens in a couple of weeks time. Business end of the season is fast approaching now...
