Good evening all. It's Friday. it's the Six Nations. so it must be Par....... Oh! Those crazy French. We're in Marseille, a first time outside of a capital city since the 1920s

Two sides with no wins in this year's competition, Italy pointless and on a 13 game losing streak in the 6N. France, who could, and possibly shou;d have two wins, merely have 2 bonus points

Time for the anthems, and the French Foreign Legion Band.

It's not exactly full in the Stade Velodrome, but the French crowd giving a good rendition of La Marsaillaise.

France have only lost 2 of the last 11 they've played here, so obviously using that as a means to victory over this Italian powerhouse. A powerhouse that may sniff something given the EIGHT changes France have made since defeat at Murrayfield

Under way, France in white, the Azzurri in, well, Azzure

All a bit pedestrian so far as Italy hold possession and probe in midfield.

First penalty goes to France. Italy running into the huge grasp of Bastareaud. No release and it's kicked toward the Italian 22, where France claim the lineout and advantage from the ensuing maul

4mins on hte clock and Wayne Barnes decides not enough advantage. Beuxis kicks to the corner. France going for it early.
