St Johnstone

Welcome, welcome, welcome! Thank you so much for joining us for St Johnstone v Rangers in that Scottish Premiership. We've time for a quick recap of how the season has gone for these two sides so far before some team news. *cough cough* St Johnstone under Tommy Wright Have dropped to 8th with little fight Under Pedro Rangers were shite But with Murty in charge are doing alright I'm Roddy Graham. And this one goes out to the 'Beast From The East'. CUE THE MUSIC!

Rangers come into this one in rather good form going by their recent history. 4 wins in their last 5 league matches meant that after the victory over Hearts at the weekend there was a title challenge on. For about 24 hours...

St Johnstone on the other hand are in some of their worst form for many a season. Only a huge win on Saturday at home to Ross County stopped a run of 7 games without three points. But that eased any relegation fears for another week.

Now for some team news. Home side probably starting in a 3-5-2 with the visitors more suited to a 4-2-3-1 (but with Andy Halliday at left back) St Johnstone XI: Mannus, Alston, Shaughnessy, Anderson, Davidson, Wiliams, Comrie, Kerr, Kane, Craig, Willock. Rangers XI: Foderingham, Tavernier, Bates, Martin, Halliday, Goss, Docherty, Murphy, Windass, Candeias, Morelos.

Our pals at McBookie price this one at 21/4 for a home win, 8/15 that Rangers take the three points back to Glasgow and 16/5 for a point a piece. Alfredo Morelos tops the first goalscorer list at 18/5. If you fancy Chris Kane to do what his brother does for fun at Spurs and open the scoring it's 10/1. I personally quite fancy the 25/1 for Greg Docherty to give his side the lead...

Just underway at McDermaid Park. Rangers are in their change black strip tonight. Saints in their traditional blue kit. It's look blooming nippy in Perth. The cold front from the east hasn't put paid to this one though. Scottish fitba on a freezing Tuesday night. Magic! St Johnstone have made the better start too. Early corner easily caught by Foderingham. Wee break in play as Jamie Murphy caught Davidson on the thigh. More accidental than anything.

Crowd not exactly bulging for this one. Seems many must have taken the warnings from the Scottish Government to only travel if necessary literally. Either that or everyone just wanted to read this live story and couldn't trust the phone signal in the ground. More problems for Davidson as he hits the deck for the 2nd time in 5 minutes. Windass also spark out on the turf. Physios bringing the pair around. Think they'll be as right as rain in no time.

In the other game tonight, in-form Kilmarnock have taken the lead at Tynecastle. Steve Clarke for the Scotland gig? Shame that post has already been filled...

Steven Anderson marshalling the Saints defence well so far. I once met his granddad in a car park. Random. In the Rangers back four, it's Martin and Bates once again. Bruno Alves sat on the bench probably dreaming about warmer climates and a World Cup. Might only be a dream if Graeme Murty keeps faith with the current central defensive pair...

Very scrappy start to this one. Neither side able to string a series of passes together in the opposition half. Saints going with a fairly high line which is limiting Windass to picking up the ball 60 yards from goal. BUT WHAT'S THIS?! PENALTY RANGERS!
