Strade Bianche

Hello folks, its Strade Bianchi day and the rain and cold have come out to make it hell for the riders, I'm Chris Rolfe and live coverage is now getting underway

11 sectors of unfinished white gravel roads stand between the riders and victory in Sienna, Michal Kwiatkowski is aiming to retain his title and equal Fabian Cancellara's record of 3 wins

Other contenders are Greg van Avermaet, world champion Peter Sagan, Alejandro Valverde and former winner Phillipe Gilbert as well as Vincenzo Nibali and Tom Dumoulin

3 time World Cyclo-Cross champion Wout van Aert is also here today and if conditions deteriorate then he could be a real contender

The women's race finished about 20 minutes ago with Anna van der Breggen taking the win with ease

Live coverage is now getting underway, 60km to go and the last of the breakaway are just being mopped up by a reduced bunch, 4 sectors of gravel still to come with the final three all tightly packed just before we enter Sienna again

There is a really small bunch at the front of the race, I believe I see Kwiatkowski and Valverde near the front, its a little hard to see who's in there as a lot of the jerseys and numbers are covered up with rain jackets

Here's your profile for the day

And the map

We're a couple of kilometres away from the final big sector, 11.5km of gravel road in this sector, the final 3 amount to just 4.3km, the final sector finishing under 12km from the finish, expect to see the race winning move come on one of those final 3 sectors
