Man Utd

Good afternoon I'm @pault1888. Welcome to Manchester. I miss MES.

Today's teams: Man Utd: de Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Bailly, Young, McTominay, Matic, Mata, Rashford, Lukaku, Sanchez. Subs: Lindelof, Lingard, Carrick, Romero, Shaw, Fellaini, Darmian. Liverpool: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, van Dijk, Robertson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Milner, Can, Salah, Firmino, Mane. Subs: Wijnaldum, Gomez, Henderson, Lallana, Mignolet, Solanke, Matip.

Currently two points between the teams with both trailing in the wake of Citeh, United need the win today to retake second place, Liverpool could go a long way towards consolidating the eventual runners-up spot by putting some distance between them and United this afternoon.

The BTM guys have had to ship in a neutral for today's powderkeg fixture, I've only been to one United-Liverpool game and that ended up a 1-0 win for the visitors, Danny Murphy scoring the only goal in (I think) 2001. From memory that was a very decent game with a great atmosphere, here's hoping for more of the same today.

Pogba out Mata in for United, a mystery training ground injury ruling out the Frenchman. Allegedly.

Teams getting ready to come out at Old Trafford, Liverpool in their white away strips, United in familiar red.

United defending the Stretford End as the game gets underway...

Cagey start, both teams getting the feel of the ball.

Great work between Mane & Oxlade-Chamberlain but United manage to clear. Liverpool seeing a little more of the ball here but no clear chances yet.

Lovren with a little darting run, loses control & manages to take both player & man in the recovery. Possession finally surrendered to United.
