Morning all! When the draw for this year's Indian Wells was made all eyes were on one potential 3rd round match up - could Serena win her first two matches to set up a clash with Venus? Well, here we are! It's @hannakin__ here with live updates of the 29th edition of this legendary match up.

Serena herself has said repeatedly that she hates playing against her sister, but fans will be savouring every moment of this. This is their third meeting in the past two years, the last coming of course in the 2016 Australian Final. Serena leads the head to head 17-11.

The players are on court and warming up so we should be getting underway shortly. It's the earliest these two have met in a tournament since their first match in Melbourne 21 years ago, and this may well be a one off with Serena already back inside the top 500 following her second round win against Kiki Bertens. The winner of this one plays Sevastova in the fourth round.

Here we go then, Venus to serve. Deep return off a second serve from Serena to force an error, 0-15. And another strong second serve return makes it 0-30. First ace of the match from Venus to tie things up at 30-30.

Deuce, and a crosscourt backhand into the corner to set up an easy volley winner brings up AD Venus. A double fault though and we're back to deuce. Serena gets her first break point of the match but it's quickly snuffed out with an ace and a crushing forehand cross court winner seals the hold. 1-0* Venus.

Serena served just the one ace in her second round tie on Saturday, but she opens up with one out wide tonight. 15-0. Backhand driven by Serena, but it's into the net for 15-30, and a lovely forehand from Venus sails past the Serena racket for TWO BREAK POINTS.

First saved with a nice forehand down the line winner, and an error from Venus on the next point brings up deuce. Venus steps in to take a forehand early, but it's driven wide, AD Serena. Forehand error though and we're back to deuce. Ooooft big hitting from both players in that point, but against Venus does well stepping in on the forehand, back to deuce.

AD Serena, and a lovely second serve forces the return error to bring up the hold. Two tough opening service games but we're on serve at 1-1.

30-30, and Venus' second double fault of the match brings up BREAK POINT SERENA. Well saved with a serve out wide and backhand winner to the opposite corner. Couple flat footed returns from Serena and Venus holds from Deuce for 2-1.

Serena does well to get around a Venus backhand, but then slightly overruns another to force herself into defence. Venus then with a strong forehand cross court winner for 30-30. Big ace down the line for 40-30, and a service winner brings up the hold. First game without deuce. 2-2.
