Goooood evening everyone! Hopefully everyone is as excited for this match as I am! Both players have been in fierce form throughout the tournament, with Kerber battling past last year's winner, Elena Vesnina, and 7th seed Caroline Garcia to get this far, and Kasatkina beating the last 2 Grand Slam winners in Sloane Stephens and Caroline Wozniacki.

So, what way is this one going to go then? I'm going to go for Kerber, I think she's just a bit too consistent for Kasatkina to find a way past her, but we'll see!

We are due to get underway in ~ 15 minutes time, so in the meantime, you can catch up on this fabulous match from last night;

We're seeing coverage of the players standing backstage, as it were. How exciting.

Kasatkina wins the coin toss, and she elects to receive. Warm-up time.

Interesting stat, the head-to-head between these two is 2-2, which I didn't know!

Kerber to serve.

A massive return off the second serve from Kasatkina, and she sets herself up for a forehand down the line; 0-15. Eeeek, good hitting from Kerber, but the final forehand flies wide; 0-30. Double fault...THREE BREAK POINTS.

Some incredible angles from both ladies, but it's Kasatkina who finishes the point, and SHE BREAKS!

Big serve and forehand combination; 15-0. Ahhh incredible return from Kerber, but she messes up the overhead; 30-0. Another good serve; 40-0. A lovely dipping return from Kerber; 40-15. Another great return, and it's followed up by a cross-court forehand winner; 40-30. Kerber nets, and Kasatkina gets the hold.
