Australian GP: Practice 2

F1

ByTheMinF1

Morning everybody! Its Free Practice time again and the second session of the day ahead of Sunday's Australian Grand Prix.

Not a lot of on track action at the start of the second session as MAG venture out on the soft tyres, let's have a recap of the session earlier. Lewis Hamilton was fastest ahead of Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas with Max Verstappen in the Red Bull in third with the two Ferrari's in fourth and fifth.

1:25.5 from RAI is half a second fastest ahead of his teammate VET with STR in third currently. Only ten minutes gone thiugh.

1:25.0 from VER as he goes fastest who soon gets replaced by BOT ON 1:24.7. HAM looks to be on a hot lap though.

1:24.5 from HAM takes him to the top of the timesheets early on.

RIC goes third in the Red Bull.

OCO outbrakes himself at T3 and takes a trip across the gravel and BOT follows him a couple of cars later. The track still looks pretty green; its not a permanent race track after all.

ALO commenting on the radio that perhaps because of HALO, drivers are forgetting to look in their mirrors. HALO is new for 2018 obviously and its obviously going to take time to readjust.

ALO meanwhile, improves but stays seventh.

HAM stays at the top of the timesheets and sets his best time of the session so far, 1:24.3.
