Evening all! Break out the popcorn because two of tennis' biggest firebrands are about to do battle for the first time. It's Nick Kyrgios vs Fabio Fognini in the Miami Open 3rd round. I'm Hannah and I'll have live updates for you, we'll be getting underway in roughly 15 minutes.

Kyrgios has been edging ever closer to his maiden masters title, and is one of a number of names who you could see taking advantage of the absence of the usual suspects in this field. There are however questions over just how fit Nick is right now, with the Aussie having pulled out of Indian Wells the other week due to injury.

Meanwhile Fognini continues to be...well...Fognini. The Italian won a 250 in Sao Paolo this month, before promptly losing his opening match against Jeremy Chardy in Indian Wells. Fognini is currently ranked above Kyrgios, seeded 15th to Nick's 17th. This could well come down to whoever keeps their head the longest.

A nice pointed remark from the umpire during the coin toss, reminding both players to mind their language and remember on-court microphones are a thing. He knows what he could be in for today!

Or a reaction to the heated debate Kokkinakis and Verdasco had earlier!

These two could well make that spat seem downright polite!!

Right then, Kyrgios to serve... Casual second serve ace to kick things off. Forehand winner and another second serve ace down the middle, 40-0. Ever mr consistent, Kyrgios with a double fault for 40-15. And to complete the Kyrgios set we've got our first 'tweener of the match! He rolls it into the net for 40-30. Fognini with a cross court backhand that lands just wide, Kyrgios holds to 30.

Fognini in at the net, Kyrgios smacks a forehand straight at him and Fognini can't sort his hands out in time. 15-30. Nice pick up on a low bouncing return, Fognini arrows it from out wide for the winner, 40-30. But Kyrgios then arrows his own down the line forehand winner and it's BREAK POINT...

KYRGIOS BREAKS thanks to a looping forehand error from Fognini. The Aussie with the early lead 2*-0, first set.

Cracker of a second shot forehand from Kyrgios, cross court with Fognini looking to cover down the line. 15-15, but a double fault puts Fognini ahead, 15-30. Two errant forehands from Fognini to put Kyrgios up 40-30, but a deep return to the baseline from Fognini forces the error for deuce.

Kyrgios just stretching out between serves, but whatever he's feeling doesn't seem to be impacting the serve itself! He bombs down an ace to hold for a 3-0* lead inside 10 minutes.

Sky just showed a close up of Flavia Pennetta, with the caption 'Fabio Fognini's Wife'. Not like she's a grand slam champion or anything!! Anyway, Flavia Pennetta's husband just held to love to get on the board at 3*-1, first set.

It's not the first time, either!
