So Kyrgios is through to face either Sascha Zverev or David Ferrer. I make no excuses for shamelessly rooting for Zverev to come through that one! That's all from me, but coming up we've got a cracker of a match from the women's side at defending champion Jo Konta takes on the one and only Venus Williams. Sam will have that one for you. I've been Hannah, thanks for following!

GAME SET MATCH, NICK KYRGIOS. 6-3 6-3. Both players a bit off the boil today, a few sparks midway through the second set but other than that a reasonably straightforward affair. Hopefully Kyrgios will be able to fight through this back trouble, luckily for him it seems like even at 75% he's got enough to cause other players trouble, and of course that serve was firing nice and sweetly today.

Fognini, serving to stay in the match, has a proper grin on his face as he serves a mahooooosive double fault. A wild backhand error, think it's fair to say he's packed it in here. TWO MATCH POINTS KYRGIOS.

Fognini dumps a forehand into the net, letting Kyrgios get away with some pretty tepid shotmaking, 30-15. Absolute textbook from Kyrgios on the next point though! Pulls Fognini in with the drop-shot, then curves the forehand pass down the line. 40-15, and he holds for 5-3*.

Fognini is now having words with the umpire, in Italian though so I'm not sure what the issue is. Kyrgios goes for a dropshot, but Fognini is there in time and his down the line forehand is too much for Kyrgios. 15-0. Third double fault of the match for Fognini, 15-15. Fognini going with his backhand for a couple of points, holds to 15. 4*-3, second set.

Fognini with a forehand winner to force deuce. Kyrgios still nattering away at the umpire. Kyrgios into the net, takes a short forehand winner for AD. Aaaaand a thumping ace down the T for the hold. 4-2*.

Kyrgios not hanging around, aces across the board for 40-0. Haha, immediately followed up by a double! He's keeping himself honest at least. 40-15. Return swings long...but...nope! He challenges, it's in and the umpire has given the point to Fognini....and now we have some fireworks! Kyrgios is not happy that he's not given a replay. But it's 40-30.

Finally a bit of life to this one!

Kyrgios with one down the line, but Fognini arrows a backhand right back down the same channel with Kyrgios looking to move the other way, 15-0. Few boos in the crowd as Fognini takes his anger out on a tennis ball. I think they just want to see some effort!! Backhand error from Kyrgios, that was more like a golf swing. 40-15. Fognini with a very casual forehand down the line winner. Holds, 3*-2

Think that might be the first drop shot we've seen from either player...Fognini goes for it and executes to perfection. 0-15. Ace from Kyrgios, out wide to pull ahead 30-15. That Fognini dropshot has given Kyrgios ideas! He finds a drop-shot winner himself for 40-15, and a service winner brings up the hold. The Aussie consolidates, up a set and a break, 3-1*, second set.

BIIIIIIG backhand crosscourt winner from Kyrgios....TWO BREAK POINTS.... And Kyrgios breaks!!! A backhand from Fognini sails long and the way this match has been progressing that could be decisive! Maybe this is what Fognini needs to get a bit interested.
