Scotland starting to lose the plot now. Defence nowhere to be seen as Lovrencsics gets away. Moments later McGregor is booked for a rash tackle. Free kick almost finds the back of the net via a header - but it was offside anyways. Hungary heightened by the penalty miss.

McKenna plays in a brilliant ball from the left, but Forrest can't get a good enough shot away in the box. One more minute until half time - McLeish probably happy enough with the performance and result so far. Because we now settle for averageness.

That's yer lot for the first half. Played better than Friday night and if only we hadn't chosen Charlie Mulgrew to take our spot kick, would have led. But we didn't. And we don't. 0-0 at HT.

Back underway at the Groupama Arena. Early action involves Szalai who aims to trick his way to a penalty, gets telt where tae go and then get a booking for protesting to the ref. Shame. Not.

GOAL SCOTLAND!!!! Well that's more like it. Ryan Fraser gets onto Forrest's ball down the right side, pings in a really good ball which deflects off a Hungarian into Matt Phillips' path and the West Brom man fires home. Decent finish that too. 1-0 to the good guys.

Based on the opening 50 minutes, you'd probably say we deserve the lead. Not sure Matt Phillips has deserved a goal but it'll give him some confidence in a Scottish shirt and that can't be a bad thing. Free kick coming up right side too. Second goal might just have me dreaming of the Euros in 2020. Unlikely though...

Charlie Mulgrew aims to make up for his penalty miss, but his shot from 25 yards sails over the goal. If there's one position we could do with finding a talent like Robertson and Tierney in it's centre half. Need the likes of League One Mulgrew to be nowhere near the squad.

No doubt be a raft of changes coming up shortly for both sides. Wouldn't mind seeing Cairney given a few minutes to see what he could do to unlock the Hungarian defence.

SOME STOP MCGREGOR! Varga dribbles and dribbles and dribbles with the ball until he's able to unleash a cracking shot from 25 yards. McGregor makes a super save to deny him. Best effort of the night from anyone in red.

Varga goes for goal again a couple of minutes later with a long range free kick. McGregor watches this one get dragged past the post. Home side threatening a bit more now.
