Borna Coric

Evening/morning all! Borna Coric has proved a tough opponent for Sascha Zverev in the past, will it be the same tonight? They'll be facing off in the Miami Open quarter finals in about 10 minutes time. I'm Hannah and I'll be bringing you live updates.

......or perhaps in a bit longer than 10 minutes. Looks like there's been a power outage at Crandon Park, so there's a delay while they find some new bulbs for the floodlights. Update:: No play before 8pm EST (1am UK time). Time to put the kettle on.

While we wait for the floodlights to co-operate, why not check out some of the other action on the site. It's MLB opening day and our live baseball coverage is some of the best this side of the channel, or if you want to be more patriotic, our equally excellent coverage of the England cricket team's tour of New Zealand is also live. It's half past midnight and you're spoilt for choice!

8pm update: Still no tennis. It looks like the lights are starting to come on, so we could be looking at getting underway at some point in the next half hour. Both players came out from the changing room a few minutes ago to ask the reason for the hold up. I guess they'd been the dark. I'll see myself out.

Finally!!!! The lights are on and the players will be making their way on court shortly. Just the one semi-final berth left to be decided, with Del Potro, Isner and Carreno Busta all having secured their places. This match up ensures there’ll be some representation from the NextGen with both players aged 21.

World number 5 Zverev has had his best run for a while at this level here in Miami. He’s beaten David Ferrer and Nick Kyrgios in progress of making this his first masters quarter final since he went all the way to the title in Montreal last summer. He's played Coric twice and lost both matches, the most recent being a four set battle at last year's US open.

Meanwhile Coric has been steadily regaining the form that helped him burst onto the scene back in 2015. He went deep in the draw to his first masters semi-final in Indian Wells before losing to some guy called Roger Federer, and has backed that up with solid wins this weeks against Jack Sock and Denis Shapovalov. Coric is already confirmed to move into a career high ranking of 28 on Monday.

Here we go then, Coric to serve... Couple of early loose forehands from Zverev, sent long for 30-0. A first ace of the match early on, straight down the middle, and Zverev sends a forehand into the net to bring up the hold to love. 1-0* first set.

Zverev hits a forehand short and Coric wastes no time in stepping up to rocket a forehand winner. 0-15. Bad miss from Zverev, sky ball from Coric, Zverev comes into the net but his forehand is miiiiiiles long. 15-30. Oh dear, another miss on the Zverev forehand, into the net off a Coric slice. It's two early BREAK POINTS for Coric...

First saved, Zverev moving much better on his backhand side, Coric nets a backhand, and then goes long with his forehand on the next point. DEUCE. Nice backhand pick up from Zverev, Coric misjudges it and kills the ball dead with his racket frame. AD Zverev and he gets the hold with a service winner.
